Radiate self love and a high quality of life in your everyday in 3 steps (3 minutes read)

To be able to love ourselves and have a fantastic quality of life are two of the main goals almost everyone on the planet has yet how many of us allow our outer world to reflect these goals? If you want to manifest self love and a high quality of life (and by that I mean whatever it is you consider to be a high quality of life) you have to create space to allow it to manifest. We often tend to think of this as an internal journey or process, and yes on the one hand it is. On the other hand if you are looking in a mirror, working on your self love affirmations and in the mirror you can see the bathroom is a mess behind you what message do you think this is giving to you own subconscious and everyone else’s about how you value and appreciate yourself and your life?

Your outer world the way you live, the way you dress shows both yourself and everyone else what you think of yourself and your worth. Both these things are mirrors to our relationship with us, our own self love and a mirror of the quality of life we think we deserve. So it stands to reason if you want to have a life of quality, if you want self love this needs to be taken into consideration in your everyday life. Yet how often we don’t take it into consideration, especially with our homes. How many of you rushed out the door this morning dreading the mess you will get home to? (Probably the majority of us!) It’s so easy to say ‘when I get promotion,’ ‘when I move into my dream home’ and ‘when I am living my dream life’ my home will reflect my high quality of life, it will show the world how much I love myself. But you are living in the here and now. Technically tomorrow never comes because when you wake up it is always today, the only day you have the power to change.

So putting the unpacking of the moving boxes off, leaving the washing/washing up/making the bed/emptying the closet until tomorrow means that that the jobs pile up and you don’t feel great about it. It’s depressing. And the universe hears it. If you take the principle that everything you send out gets reflected back to you then trying to manifest self love and a great quality of living whilst living in an environment and manner that says I am not worth better that is exactly what you are going to get.

And that is the complete opposite to what you want. You want an amazing life right now – right? Right.

So let’s do this here and now. I challenge you and me to dedicate this week to creating an environment that reflects your self love and the quality of life you. Here are a few tips to get you started.

What thoughts am I wearing today ?

Now it’s easiest to start with us because on some level What Thoughts Are youWearing Todaywe do this already when we go to work, out with friends etc. We all want to look our best. But have you ever thought about how your mental state affects the choices you make about what you wear and when? When I am feeling worn down I either go for the most comfortable clothes I can find or I dress up and put on a little makeup to boost my spirits, business meetings I power dress to make me feel confident and when gardening having my beaten up cowboy hat on makes me feel proper country and relaxed!

I used to make these choices unconsciously, allowing my mood to dress me. These days by my mirror stand an important post-it note with one sentence on it that reminds
me to be conscious about my choices. It simply says:

“What thoughts am I wearing today?”

Amazingly powerful. I want to feel great about myself. I want to feel strong. So these are the thoughts I put on and boy does it make a difference. Try it and you will see

I am worth the best

Do you remember the L’Oréal ads tagline “Because I am worth it” ? This is my mantra at home, well everywhere actually. I deserve the best and so do you. The I am worth the best attitude I started when I was actually pretty low on cash and at a point in my life where I was recovering from a very bad breakup. I wanted a quick way to remind myself everyday how great I am. So I took the decision to buy only organic food. And believe me that was not easy on the food budget I had.

What thoughtsare youwearing today -Yet every time I saw the organic logo on my shopping, in my fridge I would think I am worth it. My body deserves the best. Even now 3 years later I have it. Today I don’t just keep it at food. I deserve the best and therefore my bed needs to be made so it’s a pleasure to return there at night, therefore eating dinner at a laid table with glasses not plastic bottles, and a candle or two decorating it reminds me every day I am worth the best. Its these small things that show me and the world and the universe that I have a high quality of life and I love myself.

What is the best for you? What shows you you are worth the best? Have a think about it and form to 2 new little habits this week to remind you that you are worth it.

Your home reflecting the quality of your life.

Now take a good look around you (well once you get home or also at your personal space at work).  How does your home, your car, even your wallet reflect how you think about your life?

Is it organised and cosy or chaotic and depressing? I am by no means a neat freak.( Since childhood my floor has passed as a wardrobe and my mother will probably howl with laughter when she reads this next piece of advice and wonder where her daughter has gone.) However almost 20 years ago I read something which has stayed with me always. Quite simply that if you tidy up on the outside then you tidy up on the inside as well. When we clear away mess and cobwebs we make room for new energy to come and fill the space. SO no matter how much I don’t want to do the house work I know at the end of it I will feel 10 000 times better and my life also feels happier.  But where to start.

First you write a description about how your dream home will be. Now compare it to your now home. Chances are some of the things you described are already there- yay go you! So now you just need to work on the other parts. And usually that means clearing out. Start with your wallet, then your bag, then one cupboard and the next until everything has had a cleanse out and you feel lighter. It’s amazing how much stuff we keep that bogs us down and wonderful the feeling of release to let it all go and give it away. Or even sell it if you can.

Now have a look around at your home again and have a great think about in each room
how you can reflect your love for you in one place. Quality.jpgMaybe it’s a painting, a quote on the wall or even a notice board.
A chair set up just for you to read and drink tea. A crafting corner. Your kitchen reorganised to suit your new dietary needs (and if you have been clearing out properly there will be more space with less plates etc!) A pamper station in the bathroom or even just a set up in the house that makes morning routines a bit easier will go a long way to you feeling good about yourself and loving your life right now, right this minute.  Be inventive (or use pinterest as I do for inspiration) and have fun with this. In a way you are feng shui-ing your own home in harmony with your own chi (or flow of energy) it is all about you showing yourself and the world, on a very large scale, that you are worth it!

Just think how great you will feel about yourself when you post the pictures on Facebook or invite friends and family over in the future and they compliment you 😉

————————————————————————————————————————————

Take up the self love and life quality reflection challenge this week and begin building in your own time and tempo the strong foundations of a life when your outer world reflects your inner world in a positive and inspiring way where you have created space for you to love yourself, the look that tells people how wonderful you are and cleared the space for you to focus on quality not quantity in your everyday world.
Let me know how it goes by writing in the comments below. Have a wonderful week of self love and enhancing the quality of your life, until next time enjoy the journey ❤

#lifelessons101 – Inviting  financial abundance into your house and home (4 min read)

We want to be more abundant, it is after all humanity’s Utopian natural state.   Health, wealth and happiness  (not necessarily in that order) is something we all desire.  And if you look at the world’s resources, there is more than enough for everyone so realistically we can all live abundant lives.  Yet in spite of that there is an imbalance in world of 21st century abundance. Some people have abundant lives and others don’t. Especially when it comes to money.

Personally I have had a terrible relationship with money (maybe you can relate). For almost all of my life I have craved abundant finances to go with my abundant life. For years I have been putting my positive vibrations out into the world and focusing on manifesting the abundant finances. And what has happened…………..the exact opposite. It’s not even like I haven’t been working for my abundance. I am dedicated hardworking, yet for a long, long  time nothing has seemed to have shifted. Money always seemed to come along and trip me up.  Sometimes it has felt like money had it in for me. And yet of course it wasn’t. My bad relationship with money was created by me. Not by being dumb with my finances (weeee’llll may be a tiny bit) but mostly by my conscious and unconscious negative associations and attitudes towards money and wealth.

So I have decided here and now in 2017 that my bad relationship with money is in the past and from now on money and I are going to have a glorious future together.  It is time to make friends with money. This is the year where I am going to shift into my natural state of abundance. And I want to take you all along for the journey with me.

This is obviously not a journey that will be overnight (or in one #lifelesson101). We all know how long it takes to get over a bad relationship and make friends with an ex. This is one love affair that is going to take some effort to create. However in this first month I have made some real progress and already I can see a shift, if not physically but energetically in my state of financial abundance. I have spent this month inviting abundance into my house and home and baby step, by baby step, the universe is beginning to respond.  Here’s how I have been doing it….

Writing to money as if it was a person:

On the advice of my mentor I wrote money a letter as though it was a person . I let all of my feelings and frustrations about money gush out and wow was I shocked by the strength, passion and in fact unadulterated hatred that spilled out onto the page.

However it was a really positive experience as for the first time in my life I could really see where my problems with money started and identify what I needed to do. When you know what the problem is you are ten times closer to the solution so I highly recommend do this groundwork.

Forgiveness

If we have had a bad time in any relationship we need to forgive the other person and ourselves if you are to have a positive future together. Well I had (and have) a lot of forgiving to do to rebuild my relationship with money. At the moment I am working with one of my favourite methods of forgiveness the Hawaiian practice of Ho’oponopono. I could write a whole article about this but as Johnathan Davis has already written  a brilliant article I highly recommend you read that after this. (Click here)

Thanking

The practice of gratitude improves every aspect of life, no matter what it is.  I had honestly never thought of thanking money for what it gives me. I started by writing a gratitude list. “I am thankful to money for giving me food, my diabetic medicine, the opportunity to study” so on and so forth. It was exhilarating! It was amazing how much money does for me that I had never really thought about. Try it. Think about everything money gives you, the list is endless.

Continuing  on this practise of being grateful to money for its gifts when I now have a bill to pay I thank the universe for it’s abundance that I have the money to pay it rather than stressing about having another bill. It makes paying bills so much more enjoyable than before!

Invitation into my life and my home.

When we meet someone we want to have a relationship with we at some point invite them into our homes. We make them feel important and welcome and naturally they respond to the invitations we send to them. Now I am starting to feel more comfortable with money I have opened up my house to money and abundance by creating an abundance altar. I highly recommend it. The idea initially was to attract money however as I started to think about what abundance means to me I found that not only did I want to have representations of my finances I also wanted things that represented what makes me feel abundant Now my altar has my business cards, pictures of my family, silver, abundance affirmations, candles I made at one of the goal setting workshops I ran and a bowl containing slips of paper with everything,  everyplace and everyone  written on that makes me feel rich and abundant. Starting next week I intend to take out one of these pieces of paper everyday and that the universe for the abundance it has given me on whatever I have written on that piece of paper.  I’ll let you know how it goes.

A new perspective

As this month has gone on I am noticing more and more that instead of seeing money as this limiting and bossy thing in my life I have begun to view money simply as energy.  Wonderful giving energy. And this my friends is where the shift has really started to happen.

By seeing money as something that gives and viewing it as fluid moving abundance I have freed up a massive part of my consciousness. I am slowly emptying myself of my old negative limiting beliefs about money. as my enemy, which means I now have space in myself to see money as positive energetic expression of the abundance of the universe.

————————————————————————–

This process has shown me how abundant and rich my life is. It has motivated me to give more, to think less of myself and think more of how I can help others feel happier, the way I do right now.  One month ago I was coming from a place where I  blamed lack of money as the source of discontent in my life. And now? Now I feel abundant all the time. When the smaller abundances come along I notice and practice gratitude. And the more I do this, the more abindance I attract. I have in fact in this week managed to manifest a pair of scales in 5 mins for only 3 pounds. Desire, thought manifestation. It was honestly that easy. (And an affordable scales in 5 minutes is not an easy manifestation.)

Has my monetary wealth increased in this month. Not yet, well actually a little. However the doubt that I will attract more money to my life is dissapearing. And we already know that when you free space in your mind by removing negative thoughts, patterns and behaviours you leave space for ………………………… well let’s see what enters in the next month. I have a few more strategies I am planning on trying out so check in next month to see how my abundance journey is going

Dedicate an hour and a space in your home to exploring your relationship with money and make an abundance altar. I promise you that you will feel a shift in your outlook . (And please please do post pics below of your abundance altars so we can inspire each other!)

Have a great weekend and remember enjoy the journey!

Be the change you want to see – Take 7 days to change your life around, live your truth and attract abundance (4 min read)

We all have something we truly believe in. A personal motto to live our lives by. Be the change you want to see is one of mine. This motto (sorry it’s not a quote by Ghandi although many think it is) reminds me to live my truth no matter what. It guides me away from disharmonies and lack of consistancy in what I say and do. And in doing this it keeps me  conciously living and brings me constant abundance. Yes, I did say abundance. Why? Well when you want to contribute to the world and mirror the changes you wanto see that will be positive for everyone, life provides. Said simply you give and life gives back.

Being the change doesn’t have to be about the big causes, it can be about the small changes. Being the change you want to see is really about living your truth, walking your talk and facing your fears. Often we can be afraid to do things in our lives that are not socially acceptable even though we truly believe in that thing. For example you might want to be a vegetarian but your family business is a chain of Butchers shops and therefore it would be incredibly difficult to be in your family group if they interpreted your actions as judging them, so vegetarianism for you could just be a dream.

Of course this is an exaggeration but if you think deeply there is in all of us, something we want to change in the world, whether that thing is for our own world or the wider world. Allowing ourselves to live that truth and make the change brings our life and dreams into harmony and feels great. But how do you do it?

As always the only thing most of us have the power to change is ourselves. How does that make a change in the world I hear you ask? Just remember what we send out reflects and amplifies in the world around us.

So how to be the change you want to see? Simply said you have to take action into consciously changing your life for the better.

Follow this 7 day plan and see how easily you can adopt being the change you want to see into your life AND see the abundance it brings to you and the world around you.

Day 1 : Be grateful and show it to the world.

Time to start appreciating what you have. When we are grateful we feel more abundance. However when we share that gratitude, such as thanking the bus driver for the trip, we spread the feeling of gratitude and appreciation around you.

Day 2 : Look for good in the world and create it

The world is full of good and kind acts. If you search online there are hundreds of positive news stories about compassionate acts. And why let it be something you just read about, do something kind today and make it a goal to help someone.

Day 3 : Let go of the need to be right

We are not always right. And wouldn’t you rather have a great day then argue with someone about being right. Let go of this need today.

Day 4 : Stop judging

No-one likes to be judged. Whether we judge ourselves or others it is never a pleasant feeling and always creates a negative environment within or without. If you catch yourself judging stop and analyse your actions. Often our judgements come from a place of disharmony in ourselves. So ask yourself why are you judging? Is it actually because this person is doing something, wearing something that you wish you could? Use your empathy instead of judging today.

Day 5: Accepting and pampering

If you can’t accept where you are in your life right now, without judging and/or blaming others, then you are creating a whole heap of unhappiness for yourself. Accepting your current situation is the first step to creating change. And while you’re about it accepting can sometimes be challenging so it’s also a time for being nice to you. Reward yourself for conciously living and taking charge of your life. So while you are accepting things pamper yourself and be kind to you. You deserve it.

Day 6: Connect with your sense of purpose, your dreams and beliefs

Take time out today to ask yourself what is really important to me? What do I truly want? And which of my core beliefs am I not truly living? For example you could be wanting to loose weight, but eating junk food every day or care about the environment and don’t recycle or believe family comes before work but yet you take every bit of overtime even when you don’t need the money.  These things are disharmonies between your inner world and outer world. Once you identify them then you can do something about them.

Day 7 : Action Plan for change

Today look at your brainstorming from yesterday. Choose one of your disharmonies and make an action plan of how you are going to change it. Step by step. Make it simple, logical and measureable. Don’t try and do more than one. Baby steps towards balancing the inner world and outer world.

So what now? Simple. Steps 1- 5 are easy, things you can do every day for yourself. Continue them after this week and follow your plan. When you feel that you have got a handle on and this disharmony is now harmonious make a new plan for one of the other disharmonies. Slowly and effectively you will feel yourself slipping into a harmonious rhythm in your life and the world around you.

Being the change you want to see is an empowering and enriching experience. It frees you from half assed beliefs, can give your life drive and purpose and has the benefit of a feel good factor when you truly live your truth and walk your talk.  The more honestly and truthfully you live and give, the more you will attract abundance into your life, simply because good attracts good.

So take the next 7 days to initiate change in your life and start to truly live the life you’ve always dreamed of by being the person you have always wanted to be.

Keep working on your dreams………..inspirational people when you need them the most- J.K Rowling (4 min read)

Most of us have a dream. And when we first find it, it seems so easy. Our confidence is high. This dream is achievable. And then after time the vision grows dimmer. The possibilities of actually manifesting our dreams seems less and less likely. And it’s at this point that we need inspiration and fortunately there are many in the world that have had the same experience and still manifested their dreams. So when the chips are down and the goal seems impossible it’s to these real life stories we can turn to, to re inspire us .

As most of you know I am a HUGE Harry Potter fan. I love the universe, the characters and the magic. However the story behind the book is just as amazing as the books themselves.

J.K Rowling had a vision and a dream which took her through the hardest parts of her life. Over a period of five years the first of the Harry Potter books became her comfort and escape. She didn’t give up on the dream of having the book published and in the end her hard work paid off. A true rags to riches story.

Rowling had a relatively uneventful childhood, she was known as a child that lived in a fantasy world  and was always writing in a notebook. She finished her education by graduating Exeter University with a diploma of Bachelor of Arts in French and Classics. She moved to London and worked as a researcher and bilingual secretary for Amnesty International, but she knew that it was not for her.

Whilst returning from Manchester on the train, Rowling was inspired by the idea of Harry Potter, the whole story of the first book and the wizarding world. She had no idea where the idea came from. She began writing the book at once.

It was also at this point Rowling’s life began a downward spiral. It started on 30th December 1990 with the death of her mother at the age of 45. The shock of her mother’s death sent Rowling into a depression. 9 months later to escape she moved to Portugal where she met her first husband. Unfortunately after a period in the training assembly Rowlings husband was unable to find work and she supported the family until the birth of her daughter in 1993. However a few months later her husband beat her and drove her and her daughter out of their home.

Rowling retuned to the UK and moved in with her sister in Edinburgh. By the end of 1993, Rowling hit rock bottom and saw herself as a failure. Her short-lived marriage had collapsed, she was unemployed and she was a lone parent and as poor as it was possible to be in Britain. However Rowling can recall these years as both troubled and valuable.

During this period, Rowling was diagnosed with clinical depression and contemplated suicide. Her illness helped her to invent the characters known as Dementors, dark creatures, introduced in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. Even in this troubled period Rowling kept her dream alive.

Rowling decided to rent a small apartment in Edinburgh. As an unemplyed person she had to live off state benefits, 70 pounds per week.  Rowling was ashamed of her distressful situation. Every day she went out for a walk with her daughter and wandered through the streets to make her fall asleep. Then, sitting with a cup of coffee at Nicolson’s Cafe, or at the Elephant House, Joanne, continued to work on Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. In writing she could forget about everything, all those failures and hardships helped her to become stronger, teaching her how to succeed, even when life seemed hopeless.

In 1995, after five years of writing,  and the rewriting chapter 1 fifteen times Rowling finally finished Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. Rowling had such faith in her book that she made drawings for the future illustrators. Rowling printed several chapters on an old typewriter, put them in a folder and sent them to some literary agents. After she was looking forward to their responses.

But she received such replies as “It is too difficult for children,” “It is too long”, “Children would not be interested in it.” At this stage, she  thought that life was meaningless. Her sister came to help and said “Rowlings never give up!” So they sent some chapters to Christopher Little, the famous literary agent. Who at first rejected the book. But after reconsideration book was sent to 12 publishing companies all of whom rejected the book.

Just as Rowling was beginning to despair in 1996 there was the first light of success. In August the book finally got a green light (and a £1,500 ($2,300) of advance) by Barry Cunningham, an editor from Bloomsbury, a publishing house in London.  However although Bloomsbury agreed to publish the book, Rowling was advised by them to find a job since she had a little chance of making money in children’s books. Soon, Rowling got a job as a teacher of French.

However slowly success came in dribs and drabs. In 1997, Rowling received a £8,000 ($12,500) grant from the Scottish Arts Council to enable her to continue writing. In June 1997, Bloomsbury published Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone with an initial print-run of 1,000 copies. 500 copies of the book were distributed to libraries. When the book was presented Rowling read out the passages from her book only a few people came to listen to the unknown writer. Nevertheless, she felt herself triumphal. At this point there was no indication of the success that was to come.

The readers took to the book and the boom began. Five months later, the book won its first award, a Nestlé Smarties Book Prize. In February, the novel, beyond comparison, won the British Book Award for Children’s Book of the Year. Soon, the novel took the Children’s Book Award. In early 1998, Scholastic Inc. during the auction that was held in the United States won the rights to publish the novel won for $105,000.

In October 1998, Warner Bros. purchased the film rights to the first two novels for $1.5 million. And JK. Rowling’s success has grown and grown since that day.

J.K Rowling’s story shows dedication to a dream in spite of all the hardships and barriers. She worked hard all the way and kept the vision in mind no matter what.  In her own words “I believe you’re working and learning until the day you die”.  These three things, holding the vision, learning all the way and working hard will take your dreams to a reality.  If JK Rowling could do it, so can you.

So no matter how hard things are allow your dreams to be your guiding light and keep working on them. And remember as Rowling says that ” Anything’s possible if you’ve got enough nerve.”

working-hard

#Life lesson 101 – Want not need

Mr T is brilliant. No seriously he is. Two nights ago over dinner I was complaining that I was running out of inspiration on what to write on my blog and he came up with this brilliant suggestion. “Why not write about the life lessons you get as you have them”.  Perfect. I had been getting into a frenzy of how can I give advice and what to write about and I forgot the most important rule of writing – write about what you know.

Well as it tends to the universe responded to my renewed desire to learn and the very next day sent me a life lesson 101. It was so refreshing and energising that I felt inspired to share it straight away.

Think about what you want and not what you need.

Let me put this into context for you. I have been stressed out because I want to run 3 workshop programs this year and so far no-one has joined up (well not for the paying places, the free places are completely booked). I had been coming from a place of need. I need these customers to make this work financially, I need to make x amount to make this financially viable. So in need of inspiration I turned to the internet for advice and low and behold it presented me with a three part workshop about Using the law of Attraction to attract your ideal clients by the lovely Debbie Talbert. It was brilliant. Debbie’s words inspired me to  remember that need comes from a place of desperation. The universe gives what it hears and desperation is not a vibration you want to carry around with you (trust me on that one).

Whilst completing the webinar workshops I refocused my attention to attracting the kind of clients I want to work with, the working life I want to create. I was reminded of how when we get clear about what we want it gives the universe a clear message of what to give us. And when we allow it to give, it does. It also reminded me that two thoughts could not occupy the same space at the same time. So I need to convert my script to the positive in order to attract the positive, to focus on abundance and not lack.

The whole experience just reminded me of how powerful the universe and conscious living  is.  If you have been in a similar situation of desperation try this simple exercise to turn your thoughts to want not need and feel the energetic shift as you immediately identify what it is you want and the clarity that arrives on how to get there. Basically it’s a thought shifting process turning the negative into the positive, what you don’t want to what you do want.

Divide a piece of paper into two columns. One is “What I don’t like” the other is “What I do like”. Think about the situation or challenge you need to resolve. e.g I wanted to attract the ideal customer so I had to define who that is.

Now write a list of at least 10 things starting with the sentence “I don’t like”.

e.g I wrote I don’t like time wasters, I don’t like people who disrespect me by wanting my services for free.

Once completed turn each statement into a positive starting with the phrase “I do like”and physically cross out the negative statement.

I converted my sentences too: I like motivated focused people. I like people who respect me and want to pay for my services.

Now the important part. Read your positive list allowed. It is amazing how positive it can make you feel when you have turned these negative thoughts around to positive thoughts. Remind yourself that you are in the process of attracting all you do, know or have to manifest what you want in your life and that the universe is unfolding in a way to create this for you.

Now trust and do something else! Seriously take your mind off it and do something else. You should feel lighter, happier and a step closer to your goal or solving your challenge.

Now watch the universe unfold and provide you with what you wanted and be grateful. Remember when we give gratitude the universe just keeps providing us things to be grateful for.
Have a wonderful day 🙂

sometimes you need to look fro a different perspective
